Spur Raises $4.5M to Revolutionize Quality Analysis in E-commerce and Technology

Spur, the pioneering company that leverages AI to emulate real users navigating the browser and testing with AI agents, has secured $4.5 million in funding from esteemed investors. This significant investment will help Spur continue to build its team and expand its capabilities to tackle the pressing challenge of quality analysis in the e-commerce and technology industries.

  • Investors include First Round, Pear VC, Neo, Conviction, Liquid2Ventures, and Predictive Venture Partners, along with notable angel investors Mihika Kapoor, Director of Product @Figma, and Arash Ferdowsi, CEO of Dropbox.
  • Spur will utilize the funds to strengthen its AI QA Engineer team and fill positions in Applied AI, Business Ops, and GTM.

Traditional e-commerce companies face a daunting challenge: maintaining complex shopping experiences and checkout systems while operating lean engineering teams. Historically, they’ve had to choose between outsourcing QA or rushing releases with minimal testing. Spur’s innovative approach enables teams to now own quality directly, which is crucial for consumer-facing businesses where a single broken checkout flow or booking error can result in millions of dollars in lost revenue.

Key Benefits of Spur’s Approach Advantages Over Traditional QA Tools
Autopilot Quality Analysis Achieves 10x release cycles, saves millions in revenue, and catches critical bugs before production.
Real User Emulation Simulates human-like browsing behavior, eliminating the costly translation layer.
Aligns Quality Responsibility Transfers quality responsibility to those who know the product best, resulting in more effective testing.

“QA testing is the bane of existence for every single company,” stated Sneha Sivakumar, Co-founder and CEO of Spur. “With AI fully leveraged, we’re making a significant impact in the QA testing space. Our clients are already seeing massive success and ROI, with Spur putting QA on autopilot, 10Xing release cycles, and catching critical bugs before hitting production, saving millions in revenue. We’re thrilled to partner with investors who understand and support our mission.”

Spur’s co-founders, Sneha Sivakumar and Anushka Nijhawan, have a background in Applied AI. Sneha, Co-founder and CEO, worked at Figma and Snap, while Anushka, Co-founder and CTO, worked at DeepMind and Meta. Together, they created a no-code testing automation tool powered by AI web agents while studying at Yale. After graduation, they launched Spur, which has already gained more than 30 enterprise customers, including leading Fortune 500 companies, e-commerce sites like LivingSpaces.com, and travel companies Norse Atlantic Airways and Wander.com.

“We were blown away by the work Spur has done, bringing agentic AI to the painful, time-consuming, and costly process of QA testing,” said Liz Wessel, Partner at First Round Capital. “Sneha and Anushka’s drive and passion for helping enterprise customers address the issue of outdated QA tools have already saved their customers meaningful time and money. Spur has accomplished in a short time what we love to see in startups – they identified a critical problem that can be solved with AI, and produced real, tangible ROI for a growing list of customers.”

As Spur continues to expand its capabilities, it’s already exploring new use cases, including persona-based testing, A/B testing, and UI/UX testing. These critical pieces of quality assurance are essential for B2C companies with high-traffic sites, where a single bug can result in millions of dollars in lost revenue.
